An event for female pilots was held in Abu Dhabi and was attended by 22 members from Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. The pilots departed from the Jebel Ali marina on a spectacular Seawings seaplane tour. The seaplane flight offered marvelous aerial views of the Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and other iconic landmarks.
The Ninety-Nines was established in 1929 by 99 licensed women pilots for mutual support and advancement of aviation. Among its notable Arabian section members are the first Muslim Arab pilot to cross the Atlantic, the first Arab Aerobatic female pilot, and the first woman to fly into Bahrain.
