An air tour is the premier thing to do in Dubai, as voted by Tripadvisor and the New York Times. But which one is for you?
For a Dubai air tour you’ve probably already created a wish list of things to see; the Burj Khalifa, the Palm, perhaps the Burj Al Arab. The good news is that you’ll get to see them all. But each of our Dubai air tours offers a slightly different route and experience. Here’s a comparison of our main three Dubai air tours.
Seawings Signature Tour – The Complete View of Dubai
Think of a Dubai attraction and the Seawings Signature Tour will cover it. You’ll see the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, World Islands, Ain Dubai, and all the other sights in the city. This route has been carefully tailored to ensure that absolutely nothing is missed. It’s our best-selling tour and also our flagship scenic route. The pilot loops across the city so you enjoy views of all the famous attractions from both sides – this is ideal for photos as you always get an angle with the sun behind you. For the complete panorama of scale and detail, this is Dubai’s premier air tour.
With this Dubai air tour you can choose to take off from either Dubai Creek or Jebel Ali. The routes are almost identical, with the seaplane looping back and landing in the same place you took off. Dubai Creek is doused in history and there’s some inspiring low-altitude views of the oldest part of the city. Leaving from Jebel Ali offers a longer bird’s-eye view of the Palm Jebel Ali, which is larger and even more visually impressive than the Palm Jumeirah. Most passengers choose the departure location that’s closest to their hotel in Dubai.
The World Journey – Two Inspiring Angles of Dubai
Much like the Seawings Signature Tour, the World Journey offers an iconic flight across the famous attractions but is available only on charter basis, if you book the entire seaplane. You’ll cruise alongside the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Al Arab, and then across the skyscrapers and landscapes around the Palm Jumeirah. Unlike the Seawings Signature Tour, you won’t get a chance to fly over Jebel Ali and you only fly past the Burj Khalifa once. You cruise above The World Islands for stunning views of the city’s most ambitious development. From the seaplane window you can piece together the map of the globe and the sandbank that’s shaped like your country.
Touch down and you’re surrounded by the waters of the Arabian Gulf. After the aerial views, landing at The World provides the impression of being alone on a desert island. The city still twinkles in the distance but there’s a thrilling sense of wilderness. The 40-minute flight is followed by a 25-minute boat journey to the Palm Jumeirah, enabling you to tick off two unmissable Dubai experiences in one morning or afternoon. Cruising into the Palm Jumeirah then provides another unforgettable angle.
Seaplane Tour to Abu Dhabi – Two Cities in One Dubai Air Tour
The Seaplane Tour to Abu Dhabi is a very different Dubai air tour, combining two world-renowned cityscapes. Abu Dhabi lies south of Dubai. By taking a direct route between the cities, you naturally pass by all of Dubai’s icons, including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, and both palms. Take off is from Dubai Creek, bringing more memorable panoramas. Unlike the other Dubai air tours, you won’t loop back past any of the attractions, so each is seen from one side, and there’s no bird’s-eye view of The World Islands. But the 45-minute scenic flight cruises onto Abu Dhabi, where you have intimate vistas on the exquisite attractions of another city; think the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi Yas Marina, and the red roof of Ferrari World.
But it’s often the journey between the cities that most captures the imagination. You soar above the desert, taking in rich impressions of Arabia’s sand dunes. To one side lies the Arabian Gulf, with its wispy waves visible from above. And out to the other is the infinite appeal of the wilderness. It’s this that makes the Seaplane Tour to Abu Dhabi so impressive. Not only do you explore two cities from the air. You journey across the wild landscapes of the UAE.
Seawings also operates private air charters with fully customised routing. Enquire for this or any of our scheduled Dubai air tours.
