In-air activities Dubai, the top 5 must dos!

There are so many ways to explore Dubai, from sailing the gorgeous coastline to dune bashing in the dramatic desert landscape and flying through the sky! At Seawings flying is our passion, so we’ve put together a list of the top in-air activities in Dubai.
1.Take a leap and skydive
Skydive Dubai offers adrenaline junkies the chance to freefall at more than 120 mph – are you game enough to try? Take your pick from two dropzones – the iconic Palm Jumeirah on the coast or the Desert Zone (which is inland towards Al Ain). The tandem option is the most popular for novices, however there are facilities for licensed divers too. You can even learn to freefly or don a wingsuit at their flight school. This is one of the most challenging in-air activities in Dubai.
2.Soar through the sky on a seaplane tour
Experience the thrill of a water take-off and landing, and enjoy uninterrupted views of Dubai’s iconic landmarks including the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa. We think this is one of the best in-air activities in Dubai.
On our signature Seawings Silver flight you will enjoy stunning vistas of world-famous attractions including the Burj Khalifa, the sail-shaped Burj Al-Arab Hotel, Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands – 300 islands built to resemble a world map. You’ll fly out across Dubai Marina to Bluewaters Island and see the new Ain Dubai – which will become the world’s largest observation wheel once complete. You’ll see boats docking at Port Rashid and traditional Abras crossing Dubai Creek. Before you land take note of the impressive Dubai Frame which marks the border of Dubai’s historic centre and futuristic downtown heart.
3.Float in a hot air balloon
Float high above the desert at dawn with a falcon by your side and get a unique perspective of the rolling dunes in a hot air balloon. After gently floating through the sky you’ll touch down, to then be picked up in vintage Land Rovers to travel to your final destination – a traditional Bedouin camp a delicious breakfast. Note these tours only operate in mornings from September to May. This is one of the more unusual in-air activities in Dubai and also gives you a flavour of the Emirates history.
4.Strap on a jetpack
While you won’t be hundreds of feet in the air, you will definitely feel like you’re flying. The water-powered jetpack experience will give you the freedom of flight in minutes! Your session starts with a 10 minute lesson after which you’re unleashed into the air. Given that this activity occurs in and above the water, you must be able to swim. There are several jetpack operators in Dubai, Hydrosports are one of the best known. They also offer flyboarding and ‘jetovator’ options.
5.Take the chopper
There are several helicopter tour operators in Dubai – taking off from the helipads at either Nassimi Beach on the Palm Jumeirah or Dubai Marina. You’ll soar through the sky and take in Dubai’s famous attractions such as the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah coast. You can choose from a range of tours which can run from 12 to 60 minutes, and each flight can take a maximum of six people. Note helicopter tours are noisy due to the rotor blades, and you’ll only be able to communicate via headset.
